Once you have passed the second loop through the first, pull the slack out to tighten the knot down like the photo above. With practice, you can make sure that you are always passing the loops through in the same direction, so you will always know which side of the loop to pull to tighten the knot down. In the photo above, the portion of the loop which is to the left was pulled to tighten the knot down, then the portion of the loop to the right was pulled to make the loop smaller.

From here the process is simply a repitition of steps 2, 3 and 4. First - Pull a loop through a loop. Second - pull the knot down tightly. Third - pull the slack out of the remaining loop to make it easier to create a knot.
